About the portfolio
Eradicating construction poverty.
Atomic Building Group is a privately-held holding company and a decentralized network of independent brands, companies, and tools. Each member keeps its own leadership and legacy while sharing the resources of the wider Atomic Building Group.
The crisis
$1.6 trillion wasted a year.
98% of megaprojects come in over budget or behind schedule. Meanwhile the world needs to double its building floor area by 2060, the equivalent of building an entire New York City every month for the next forty years.
We need $100+ trillion in infrastructure investment just to meet energy transition and AI data-center demand. The world is desperate for construction leaders who can turn blueprints into the hospitals, schools, homes, and data centers that enable human progress.
Construction poverty is the epidemic of failed projects, wasted resources, and human suffering caused by poor project leadership and broken systems. We exist to end it.
Why "Atomic"
Tiny actions. Fundamental units. Immense compounding.
"Atomic" is three things at once: tiny and easy to run, the fundamental unit of a larger system, and the source of immense compounding power. Habits were one application. Construction project leadership is ours. An atomic meeting, an atomic handoff, an atomic decision. Small enough to actually execute on a jobsite. Foundational enough to combine into the production system. Powerful enough that a 1% edge, compounded across a 3-year job, decides whether it finishes early and profitable or late and bleeding.
Principle 01
Agility
The ability to adapt quickly to change by betting on people, constant learning, and small steps. Fast feedback beats a rigid long-term plan the moment conditions shift. Humans and AI learn together here, so every sprint comes back sharper than the last.
Principle 02
Discipline
We are disciplined with process, time, and planning. We plan the work and we work the plan. One important task at a time, no context switching, no drifting off the system when the day gets loud. Discipline equals freedom, and deep work beats fifty small tasks done poorly.
Principle 03
Leverage
Leverage in tools, leadership, process, and software means doing more work with less effort. It is like riding a bike and dropping into a lower gear: the same leg power carries you up a steep hill. Atomic projects let systems, methods, and software do the heavy lifting.
Principle 04
Production
Lean, the Last Planner System®, and Project Production Management baked into the tools, the people, and the work itself. We manage production, not just paperwork. Flow over schedule, throughput over busyness, and a plan the crews actually believe.
Principle 05
Leadership
The core principle of leadership is service to others. It is not a title or an order, it is lifting up the people around you, building deep trust, and owning the group's shared result. We build humans who build projects, and as AI absorbs the admin, judgment and character become the edge.
Principle 06
Profitable
Plan well, build fast, waste nothing. Atomic projects finish quicker, with less capital tied up and a higher return for the owner. Every system we teach is aimed at the same end: optimal time, maximum profit.

Goals are a wish. Systems are how you actually finish.
Every project plants a flag. Schedule. Budget. Quality. But the flag doesn't move the dirt. The system does. Atomic operators are obsessed with the production system, not the podium. Win the system, and the goal becomes a side-effect.
Don't optimize for
FragileGoals.
- A target you might hit. Once.
- Binary: win or lose.
- Decays the moment it's reached.
Optimize for
AntifragileSystems.
- A machine that produces the result, every time.
- Compounding: gets sharper with every cycle.
- Owned by the team, not the spreadsheet.
Success.
Only one delivers it on repeat. Everything Atomic Building Group ships, APM, ProjectOS, the Toolbox, is a system built to make the goal inevitable.
You can't improve what you can't measure. The Antifragility Assessment maps your project leadership against the seven archetypes and pinpoints the first system to build.

No Bullsh*t Project
A Project Manager's Guide to Successful Project Leadership. Most project outcomes are, let's face it, bullsh*t, over budget, behind schedule, half the time not even close to successful. This book is the roadmap to make every project you lead fun, fast, and predictable.
Drawn from $500M+ of complex construction projects and read by 10,000+ builders worldwide through The Influential Project Manager.
